Play‘n GO is getting romantic with its new Love Joker video slot

Continuing its fast start to the New Year, Swedish online casino games developer Play‘n GO has announced the launch of yet another video slot in its three-reel and five-payline Love Joker innovation.

The Stockholm-headquartered firm used an official Thursday press release to detail that its third new release of 2022 follows the January premieres of the 15 Crystal Roses: A Tale of Love and Tale of Kyubiko games to serve as the twelfth iteration of its popular Joker family of video slots, which additionally embraces the Free Reelin’ Joker and Fire Joker Freeze advances.

Cheeky character:

Play‘n GO stated that the fresh mobile-friendly title should prove popular in the run-up to St Valentine’s Day as it comes complete with a ‘fun-loving joker’ protagonist that has been designed to ‘spread the love’. The company pronounced that this medium volatility video slot offering a 94.2% return to player ratio also has classic seven and fruit symbols spinning across its reels to offer iGaming aficionados the chance to take home as much as 1,008 times their triggering stake.

Rapid reactions:

The developer went on to declare that Love Joker is ‘a fast-paced game with strong goals to retain player engagement’ and challenges competitors to amass eponymous symbols across its central reel in order to unlock access to its Love Spins feature for a ‘feeling of progression and accomplishment’. It explained that this hold-and-win-style attraction will continue for as long as players can land heart, blank and golden heart icons that are subsequently placed in a grid-top meter for the chance to raise the multiplier and ‘keep players on the edge of their seats’ and ‘immersed in entertainment’.

Attractive allure:

Charlotte Miliziano serves as Head of Games for Play‘n GO and she used the press release to proclaim that Love Joker has ‘overtly romantic’ visuals as well as a ‘cool gyroscope background’ that will move throughout the action to complement ‘both the theme and pace of gameplay’. She furthermore asserted that her firm’s latest video slot is destined to prove especially popular for fans of ‘classic fruit machine-style symbols’ and offers such aficionados an opportunity to enjoy ‘that authentic feel of pulling the lever on a traditional machine’.

Read a statement from Miliziano…

We have the most diverse portfolio out there when it comes to our games and we wanted to add a little romance to our collection. What better way to do that than with one of the jokers? Simple, fast-paced and entreating; this was one of our favorite games to make.”

American sportsbetting market experiencing ‘gold rush’ growth

In the United States and sportsbetting has quickly grown since the 2018 revocation of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) to now sit as an activity that regularly books aggregated monthly handle of over $7.1 billion.

According to a December 16 report from the Bloomberg news service, legal sportsbetting was once confined to Nevada but the United States Supreme Court’s decision to throw out the PASPA-linked prohibition has led to a ‘sports gambling gold rush’ that has quickly grown to be ‘absolutely off the charts’. The source asserted that the nation is now experiencing ‘a multibillion-dollar betting boom’ as dozens of American jurisdictions including the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Arizona and Indiana have legalized various forms of retail and online sports wagering.

Convivial connections:

Bloomberg reported that more sportsbetting cash is now wagered in New Jersey than in Nevada while California could become the nation’s most lucrative market should voters agree on legalization next year. As this industry expands and the boundaries that once existed between gambling and professional sports leagues are purportedly disappearing with teams such as the Buffalo Bills, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Pistons inking direct partnership agreements with operators such as FanDuel Group, DraftKings Incorporated and PointsBet USA.

Read the report from Bloomberg…

Betting lines now roll across television screens during sports broadcasts and professional teams and leagues have established direct partnerships with gambling companies. Media and entertainment companies including such family-friendly giants as the Walt Disney Company have pursued similar partnerships or opened the door to them.”

Potential peril:

Bloomberg moreover reported that sportsbetting was earlier considered an ‘add-on’ for land-based casinos that helped them add to the entertainment mix and draw in punters to enjoy more profitable pursuits such as slots, roulette and keno. However, it noted that sports wagering is now ‘surging’ thanks to the prevalence of digital apps that allow punters to place bets on their mobile devices and could well be ‘threatening the business of bricks-and-mortar casinos.’

Positive projection:

The news service cited a prediction from Goldman Sachs Group Incorporated that the United States’ sportsbetting market could well be processing up to $39 billion in annual online wagers by 2033. Although the current figure purportedly stands at less than $1 billion, mobile action was given a giant boost after the coronavirus pandemic led to the temporary closure of more traditional retail sportsbooks.

Bloomberg’s report read…

Mobile wagering has become the preferred method of sports gamblers and in states where sports betting is popular, mobile has quickly overtaken on-site sportsbetting. Sports gambling companies are on pace to make about $4 billion this year but the market could grow exponentially if California legalizes it next year.”

Braggs ORYX Gaming increases presence in Swiss iGaming market via new Casino Interlaken content deal

In “another important step” in its efforts to grow its game provision in the industry, leading turnkey solutions provider Oryx Gaming has partnered with Swiss land-based casino operator Casino Interlaken for the latter’s StarVegas.ch interest. The agreement will see the Bragg Gaming Group (NASDAQ: BRAG) subsidiary deliver its exclusive content to the “well-respected brand” in Switzerland.

In addition to Oryx’s proprietary slots portfolio, the online casino‘s players will also gain access to the provider’s exclusive remote gaming server (RGS) content from German online casino games developer Gamomat, along with Armenia-based studio Peter & Sons, Giveme Games, Kalamba Games and Golden Hero.

Swiss expansion:

The deal that marks the iGaming suppliers expansion in the market was made possible in July 2020, with Oryx’s ISO/IEC 27001 certification, which is an information security standard published by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) used as a regulation benchmark in Switzerland. The certification is required in order to enter the regulated Swiss online market, which came into effect on July 1, 2019, permitting only land-based casinos to secure licenses.

In a company news release, Chris Looney, Chief Commercial Officer for Bragg Gaming, said their “partnership with Interlaken is another important step in our efforts to grow our game provision in the industry.

“Switzerland is a market with much potential and it’s a feather in our cap to have our content on such a well-respected brand there.”

Market gains:

According to Oryx, the seven brick-and-mortars that offered online games in the Central European country in 2020 reached gross gaming revenue (GGR) of around US$203 million (CHF186.8 million). Released by the Swiss gambling regulator, the figure dwarfs the US $26 million (CHF23.5 million) that was reportedly generated the year prior when there were three fewer casinos operating online in Switzerland.

Also commenting on the supply deal, Jens Sellgrad, Chief Operating Officer, at Interlaken, added that they are “always looking to have the latest quality content available” to their players and “this agreement with ORYX certainly delivers that.”

The CCO explains that the “seamless manner in which the delivery has taken place is especially pleasing” and they are “confident this solid start” will continue through their relationship.

Third Switzerland deal:

The Interlaken partnership is the third for Oryx in Switzerland after inking deals with Grand Casino Baden for its online casino brand jackpots.ch. in December 2021 and with Grand Casino Luzern in November 2020 under the mycasino.ch brand. And is also the latest in the provider’s continued push across European regulated markets, with the deal coming on the heels of recent strategic entries into the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Greek (Novibet) markets.

Oryx Gaming is currently licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the Greek Hellenic Commission (HGC) and the Romanian National Gambling Office (ONJN), while its content is either certified or approved in various other key jurisdictions.

Pragmatic Play submerges us in high volatility action via new video slot Wild Depths

Get out your diving gear because online casino software developer Pragmatic Play is taking us on an aquatic adventure in its latest title, Wild Depths, where colorful, wide-eyed fish swim carefree among all sorts of coral deep beneath the sea, and Extra Spins, Wilds and Scatters help provide wins of up to 5000X the bet!

Set in a scene reminiscent of Pixar’s 2003 hit Finding Nemo, this 5-reel, 4-row video slot has 40 paylines and a higher than average RTP of 96.48 percent. The new game is playable on desktops, mobiles and notepads, and winning combinations are formed by landing at least three matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the far left.

Fish & seashells:

The game’s lower paying symbols include 10, J, Q, K and A card icons. Landing five matching symbols is worth between 1x – 1.5x the bet. Medium paying symbols comprise a red starfish, purple seashell and a green seashell and landing five-of-a-kind pays between 2.5x and 5x the bet. Blue, yellow and orange fish are the higher pays and landing five matching symbols is worth between 7.5x and 20x the bet.

In order to land larger catches in Wild Depth, you’ll need the Bubble, which serves as the game’s Wild and appears on every reel sans the first reel and substitutes for all symbols except for the clam with giant pearl Scatter. Wilds help to complete winning paylines and come with a x2 multiplier, which is applied to each winning combination they are part of. If a win includes more than one wild, multiplier values multiply between each other.

Game features:

Courtesy of the Roaming Wilds feature, creating a win with one or more wild symbols see them remain on the reels after wins. The symbols float up to the next position on each subsequent spin until they float away.

As mentioned above, the Scatter is a clam with a giant pearl, and in the base game if you land three of them you will activate the Extra Spins round, as well as 6, 9, or 12 Extra Spins.

What’s more, if you hit at least three Scatters during the Extra Spins round, it will cause an instant payout and reactivate the feature, which will see players provided with five additional Extra Spins. You can also trigger a respin by landing a Wild symbol during Extra Spins.

Yossi Barzely, Chief Business Development Officer for Pragmatic Play, explains via company news that as one of their first slot releases of 2022, they wanted to make Wild Depths “as inclusive of an experience as possible” for a variety of player types.

Both of the new games enhance an already impressive portfolio of more than 200 HTML5 slots including such hits as Crystal Caverns Megaways, Smuggler’s Cove, and the wildly popular John Hunter and Big Bass Bonanza series.

Next up for the hard-working developer is Gold Party, which is due to drop on January 20th!

JKO Play Limited secures financial backing for its planned Playtech purchase

In the United Kingdom and JKO Play Limited has reportedly received backing from India-born millionaire Vikrant Bhargava (pictured) in its effort to purchase online casino games developer Playtech.

According to a Sunday report from The Times newspaper, Bhargava is one of the world’s wealthiest iGaming entrepreneurs after helping to establish now-subsumed online casino and poker operator PartyGaming in the 1990s and serving as that firm’s Marketing Director. The source detailed that the 49-year-old businessman is thought to have a net worth in the region of £500 million ($678 million) and has now agreed to part-finance JKO Play Limited’s attempt at buying Playtech.

Central source:

After stepping down from PartyGaming in 2006, Bhargava reportedly established a Gibraltar-registered private investment vehicle known as Veddis Ventures. It is purportedly thought that the tycoon’s support for the campaign from JKO Play Limited will come from this enterprise.

Potential partner:

The Times reported that New York-headquartered private equity investments firm Centerbridge Partners is moreover understood to be in discussions with JKO Play Limited regarding a structured debt agreement. The newspaper cited an unnamed source close to this firm, which manages global assets worth around $25 billion, as declaring that it ‘remains very engaged’ in the process of helping the enterprise run by former Formula One supremo Eddie Jordan and gambling industry veteran Keith O’Loughlin to better an earlier bid for Playtech lodged by Aristocrat Leisure Limited.

Delayed decision:

Isle of Man-based Playtech last week reportedly postponed a coming Wednesday shareholder vote concerning the £2.7 billion ($3.7 billion) takeover proposition from Aristocrat Leisure Limited in order to give other parties including JKO Play Limited more time to prepare their own bids. Anyone interested in buying the London-listed enterprise now purportedly has until January 26 to lodge a firm offer in advance of what is expected to be a definitive February 2 investor ballot.

Waning weight:

Established in 1999, Playtech supplies a vast array of games and software solutions to some of the world’s premier iGaming domains. However, the innovator’s standing has recently been on the slide with its aggregated revenues for the whole of 2020 having declined by 25.1% year-on-year to £901 million ($1.2 billion) as the coronavirus pandemic took a toll on both its business-to-business and business-to-consumer operations.

Continuing commitment:

For its part and Sydney-headquartered Aristocrat Leisure Limited is reportedly still interested in buying Playtech and asserted last week that its own bid ‘remains the only firm offer’ and would provide ‘attractive value in cash and enhanced regulatory and financial certainty’ for the enterprise’s shareholders. The Australian behemoth purportedly furthermore declared that JKO Play Limited has ‘already had a substantial amount of time to make an alternative proposal’ and that the fresh delay will only extend the ‘period of uncertainty’ for any stakeholders.
